Dustblade & Broom

One of their earliest products, was their reduced to the max dustpan and broom that was designed by Ole Jensen and was awarded the prestiguous Formlandprisen. Here’s the story to the simplistic product: Ole Jensen was irritated by all the dust and clay that was in his workshop one day, took his erasing brush and a piece of newspaper and swept everything together in on easy motion. He liked the idea of a hand held dust blade so much, that he turned it into a product. The dustpan is made out of polypropylene allowing it to be bent and flexed with a lot of flexibility and the broom out of specially treated beech wood and natural bristles – unlike modern bristles, which are usually inserted from the back of a brush, these bristles are bent around a rod and glued into a wedge in the handle. This traditional technique creates an extremely durable brush and passes through eight pairs of hands in the production process – the epitome of traditional craftsmanship and industrial production. The hole in the back of the pan allows it to be stored on the handle and hung when not in use.
