katja holtermann designed the balance cups for carl mertens, germany 2000. a simple but fun design for a cup. the cups lay on their side when empty, but when there is liquid in them they stand up straight (which is just the opposite of what happens to humans when we have too much of certain liquids inside of us). the hollow body of this metal piece isolates and helps to maintain your drink's temperature. it is an award-winning design made of satin 18/10 stainless steel.
