In ages past when geeks wanted to impress their lords with entertaining displays of their scientific expertise, they usually blew something up. Now, however, there are certain regrettable restrictions on explosives. Man, the powers-that-be can really put a damper on a good time.
No matter - you can still set up a fantastic and impressive display of science without all the flash and the burning and the trips to the emergency room and visits from Homeland Security. Simply drop some tasty minty candies into a big bottle of diet cola and run! The result would be a great foaming geyser of brown liquid, sopping sticky clothes, a shower, and time with a mop. Decidedly unfun.
